Position: Fundraising & Events Steward
Hours: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)
Salary: £28,000 Basic per annum + On-Target Earnings (OTE) up to £36,000 per annum
Location: Bolton – Working across the North West Region
Reports To: COO or Head of Stewardship and Communications

 

Role Overview

As a Fundraising & Events Steward, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy and events calendar.

Your role will involve

  • nurturing and expanding our donor database,
  • growing our regular giving program,
  • organising, delivering and overseeing fundraising events,
  • developing our corporate partnerships,
  • and working closely with our Community Engagement Officer to foster strong relationships within the community.

You will also play a key role in promoting our initiatives through social media, ensuring that our supporters are well-informed and engaged.

About Us

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Fundraising Officer to join our team and play a vital role in sustaining and expanding our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fundraising Strategy: Develop and implement innovative fundraising strategies to meet and exceed financial targets.
  • Donor Management: Maintain and grow our current donor database, ensuring regular engagement and communication.
  • Event Management: Plan, organise, and lead fundraising events, including early morning, late evening, and weekend activities.
  • Networking: Attend networking events to build relationships with potential donors, corporate sponsors, and community partners.
  • Community Collaboration: Work closely with the Community Engagement Officer to align fundraising efforts with our mission and community needs.
  • Social Media Management: Create and manage social media content to announce events, share updates, and promote our cause.
  • Reporting: Regularly track, analyse, and report on fundraising performance, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Dimensions and Limits of Authority:

  • Reporting: This role will report directly to the Chief Operations Officer until a Head of Stewardship and Communications is appointed, ensuring alignment with broader organisational goals.
  • Budget Management: The Fundraising & Events Steward will be responsible for costing events and must work within the allocated departmental budget. This includes identifying suitable locations and negotiating costs to maximize the impact of each event within budget constraints.
  • Decision-Making: While the Fundraising & Events Steward has the authority to plan and execute fundraising events, all significant decisions, particularly those impacting the budget or strategic direction, must be made in consultation with the line manager.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Certifications in fundraising, philanthropy, or nonprofit management (e.g., CFRE)
  • Proven experience in fundraising within the charity sector, with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding financial goals. –
  • GCSES, English and Maths Level A-C or 9-5 or Functional Skills.
  • Passion for supporting families of disabled children and a deep understanding of the challenges they face.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent organisational and event management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in using donor management software and social media platforms.
  • Flexibility to attend early morning, late evening, and weekend events as required.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
