Award-winning Lagan’s Foundation, a Bolton-based charity supporting children with complex health needs, has moved into new offices in Horwich.
The relocation to the Futura One Suite E, Futura Park, Middlebrook, Horwich, Bl6 6PG, is the next step in the charity’s growth as demand for their specialist care continues to increase.
The charity, which was previously based at Manchester Road, Bolton, offers unique home respite and care to families who have infants and children up to 19 years old, diagnosed with complex health conditions specialising in heart defects and feeding difficulties.
Over the last few years, it has grown from strength to strength as demand for its specialised services continues to grow.
The brand-new modern offices offer easier access to the motorway network and public transport for its carers, who travel across Greater Manchester and Merseyside.
Lagan’s Foundation Founder and CEO, Carren Bell, won a top honour at the end of last year at the National Women Achieving Greatness Awards. Carren was named the winner of The Third Sector Leader Award at the highly respected event which celebrated women making outstanding contributions across the sector.
Since establishing Lagan’s Foundation in 2011, Carren has transformed what began as a small community-led idea into a well-established charity delivering essential respite care and support services across the North West. Her journey to founding the charity is deeply personal. After losing her daughter Lagan to a complex heart defect, Carren channelled her grief into lasting change, ensuring that no other family felt as unsupported or alone as she once did.
Carren received the award for her exceptional leadership, innovative approach and long-standing commitment to supporting children with complex health needs and their families.
She said: “Our move to Futura One is more than just a change of address. It’s a symbol of how far we’ve come. With growing demand for our specialist services, we needed a space that meets our needs – and the needs of the families we support.
“Respite care and support of any kind is invaluable. Lagan’s Foundation’s purpose is to bridge the gap between home and hospital, providing unique care to support parents in their caring role.
“This new base will also allow us to deliver our services more efficiently and comfortably, whilst also providing an environment where staff, volunteers and families feel welcome.”
